A short interview with Justin Bradshaw, Co-Founder and President of REVER.
A motorcycle app designed for planning, tracking, and sharing your riding experiences.
What is REVER?
The REVER motorcycle app, available for free on both iOS and Android, works in conjunction with the REVER website to help riders discover the world’s best motorcycling roads, create custom routes, track epic rides, compete for bragging rights in a variety of challenges, and share their riding experiences across social platforms.
Where did the idea for REVER come from?
I used to work for one of our partners Butler Maps. We created paper maps catered toward motorcyclists with suggested roads rated on a scale of quality. We then started trying to figure out how to produce a similar but expanded version in a digital format.
But once we started developing the idea, we realized that there was a lot more potential. Looking
at apps for other activities like cycling, running, and skiing, we realized that there wasn’t anything like those in our industry. We decided that we needed to create a community for motorcyclists that allowed them not only plan rides and then track rides but also share the experience with their motorcycling peers.
When was it created?
The REVER app was launched in 2015, and since those humble beginnings has grown steadily with hundreds of thousands of users logging millions of miles in more than 120 different countries.
Tell us more about the people that make up REVER
REVER was founded and is staffed by experienced technology and motorcycle industry professionals who love to ride motorcycles. We are 100-percent focused on enhancing the riding experience; from building the REVER community to incorporating ride-enhancing technology and features into the REVER app.
How is REVER evolving as it grows?
Learning from our users, and what they want from the app, steers us in new directions all the time. First and foremost, REVER wants our worldwide community of riders to enjoy using the app, get motivation to go out and ride their motorcycles, and find it useful as a planning and navigating tool.
Many of the new features were created to address direct feedback that we’ve received from our users. Our latest update, Version 3.0, which will be release this month, will have better planning tools, a more streamlined process for sharing rides, more exciting challenges that go beyond just mileage-based contests, the ability to search for routes, rides, and road content that users can download and/or purchase and then ride. Turn-by-turn navigation for simple Point-A-to-Point-B navigation will also be added. Another big evolution will be the concept of communities: users will be able to join and participate in activities created by communities that they join such as clubs, dealers, events, and manufacturers.
