Thailand - Cambodia - Vietnam
12Th-20Th November 2017
An epic motorcycle tour through the Golden Triangle providing “full immersion” into the cradle of Buddhism which, along unexplored roads and incredible landscapes, will bring participants to lively, peaceful and charming villages, temples with a magical atmosphere and chaotic and lively metropolitan areas. The many facets of Asian culture are a great attraction for motorcyclists around the world and its essence is the “meeting point” between Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. Here is where the 2017 GIVI TOUR will take place, scheduled to take place in November. This experience will be followed on the portal through daily accounts in which we will feature all the emotions, practical tips and useful links, accessories tests, vivid photo galleries and videos.
Follow us to see each stage of the journey.
THE PROPOSED PROGRAM
Once we’ve finished scouting for a route and locations, after choosing the motorcycles to use and the accessories to test, the paperwork will then begin … but in the meantime we can provide a preview of some of the details.
ROUTE
Departure is from Pattaya, Thailand. The first stage will take the group to Aranyapathet, border point with Cambodia and then onto Siemreap (covering a total of 425km). This small town is located within the ruins of Angkor (the largest religious site in the World and a UNESCO Heritage site since 1992)
and the great Tonle Sap Lake in the northwest of the country. Here, there will be a one-day stopover to allow participants to visit the famous temples at Wat, Thom, Ta Prohm and Bayon … to mention some of the most important. The tour will continue to Phnom Penh, the political and economic capital of Cambodia, lying on the Mekong River (320km) with a lunch break along the way. The next stage will bring the group to Moc Bai, beyond the Vietnamese border and located on the Trans-Asia Highway, which connects Phnom Penh to Ho Chi Minh City and signals the day’s final stop, but not before a visit is scheduled to the historic site of the Cu Chi Tunnels. A vast underground network of tunnels used in the 40’s by Viet Minh warriors during the war against the French forces and later by the Viet Cong during the Vietnam War. The stop at Ho Chi Minh City (once called Saigon) marks the central point of the tour. The city, pulsating and chaotic, is important for both commerce and culture. It is also important as it is the metropolitan area where the Headquarters for GIVI VIETNAM is located. A stop at the establishment is certainly well worth it. A scooter ride and visit to the huge “wholesale motorcycle market” will be added to the experience.
The next destination is Can Tho, 170km away. It is one of the 5 major cities in the country and is famous for its floating market on the Mekong River and for gastronomic specialties. At this point, the route turns to Ha Tien, (180 km), famous for its beautiful beaches, then the tour returns to Cambodia for a stop at the Preah Monivong Bokor National Park on the southern tip of “Elephant Mountains”: 982 square miles of evergreen rain forest. The last day of the tour will find the group returning to Pattaya for the grand finale.
WEATHER
The tour will take place in tropical areas, with warm humid weather and temperatures that can reach 40°C.
TRANS ASIA ROUTE
